I received my Masters and PhD in 2000 and 2004, respectively. Thesis title: "Exploring problems in tectonics and geodynamics with seismology". I left Stanford in 2003 for the University of California, San Diego. My southward migration not only took me to a more consistent and pleasant climate, but also to new research fields--global seismology and infrasonics, the study of low-frequency atmospheric sound.
